    Hi,

is there an installation Guide for the Server.
If i set it up (with a download of your latest snapshot) all it returns in the lower loginframe:

The requested URL /AjaxLife/server/ajaxlife.kat was not found on this server.

Maybe Im missing a point here.

Running your own server is not, currently, an entirely trivial affair. Essentially, you must:

    1. Place the entire contents of the client/ directory on a webserver you can access
    2. Unzip the dependencies download in the server/ directory (so that you have a bunch of server/dependencies/blah.dll files).
    3. Compile the AjaxLife server (You will need either MS Visual C# or MonoDevelop (or some level of skill) for this. You will find server/AjaxLife.sln helpful – currently, no binary packages are available.
    4. Copy openjpeg-dotnet.dll, libopenjpeg-dotnet-2.1.3.0-dotnet-1-i686.so, libopenjpeg-dotnet-2.1.3.0-dotnet-1-x86_64.so and libopenjpeg-dotnet-2.1.3.0-dotnet-1.dylib from the dependencies directory into the same directory as the compiled AjaxLife.exe
    5. Run the compiled AjaxLife binary from the command line, passing it the address of the client/ directory, something like this:

This will cause AjaxLife to run on port 8080, and thus be accessible at http://localhost:8080/ (assuming you’re running it on your current machine). You may change this port by passing the --port argument. A list of command line arguments may found on the wiki.

I get a server connection error when trying to connect from my iPhone 3G. Has this been disabled for the iPhone? I’m still waiting for someone to come out with a free application that allows you to do the same stuff Sparkle IM and True Life do, but keeps you logged in even when you do not have the application up.

AjaxLife support has not been explicitly disabled on the iPhone; however, the SSL certificate has expired, and no maintenance will be taking place on the iPhone version until the iphone2 development branch bears fruit (which I’m working on). Although most of the buttons don’t work yet, you can see a preview of this at http://ajaxlife.net/iphone2/iphone.html (note: you should add this to your home screen (using the + button at the bottom) and launch it from there.)

As an addendum to the above point about that link, it seems that there is currently a syntax error in the thing, causing it to not work properly at all.

If you have 101% of the monthly hosting cost doesn’t that mean you made some, not much but some money and its not costing you any?

That was 101%… in 2008. It has cost me about two thousand dollars since.
