Update to 0.3.6

Downtime No Comments

AjaxLife is currently down for updating to 0.3.6. This version is less buggy and has improved inventory support. More details will follow.

(Anyone wondering why I always make these posts just before I do an update: because the system redirects new requests to ajaxlife.net to blog.ajaxlife.net when I set it to update mode.)

AjaxLife 0.3.5 release notes

Release 3 Comments

The 0.3.5 update has just been completed. Please clear your browser cache if you experience any issues.

New features

  • “Start Location” option on login screen lets you choose to log in at your last location, your home location, or an arbitrary sim (you’ll be placed at (128, 128, 20), and SLurl link format won’t work)

Log in… where?

Development 4 Comments

I’ve tweaked the layout of the login screen for the next version. It now looks like this:

Specifically, I added this menu:

Which may look something like this after typing:

So now you can choose where to log in. This is working on my testing server, but not yet live.

New Features

  • You can click on avatar names in the chat and IM history windows to open their profile. There is no visual indication of this, however.
Changes
  • Certain messages (e.g. SendAgentMoney) are now signed and checked to ensure that a potential attacker cannot perform malicious actions, even if they intercept your session data and impersonate you.
  • New constants in the 1.20 release candidate (TEXTURE_BLANK, TEXTURE_DEFAULT, TEXTURE_TRANSPARENT and TEXTURE_PLYWOOD) are highlighted by the syntax highlighter
  • Various code changes for clarity and efficiency.
Bug fixes
  • No longer affected by Linden Lab’s occasional accidental libsecondlife blocks.
This release was also going to feature improvements to modal dialogues, but this has been pushed back to 0.3.5 due to the need to get the blocking fix out (which wasn’t written until Linden Lab blocked it earlier today).

[COMPLETED] Update to 0.3.4

Downtime, Release 1 Comment

[17:30 GMT] Update complete. We’re back (and unblocked)! Please clear your browser cache and try again if you receive a message to the effect of “A C# exception was caught: array index out of bounds.”

[17:17 GMT] Final testing has passed. We’re now waiting for the deploy script to update the servers. We should, hopefully, be back up shortly. Release notes will be posted in a separate post.

AjaxLife is going down for an unscheduled update to 0.3.4. The version was going to be released in a week or so, but is going out now due to having the property of bypassing the libsl block currently in place. It was actually almost released last week, but failed final testing. Those bugs have been fixed now, so it’s just being released without a bugfix/enhancement that was planned.

We’ll be back as soon as possible!

[RESOLVED] AjaxLife blocked (again)

Downtime 6 Comments

[17:32] We have resolved this issue. Please clear your browser cache and retry if you receive a message to the effect of “A C# exception was caught: array index out of bounds.”

[UPDATE] See this post for information about the solution in progress.

Linden Lab have apparently blocked AjaxLife from accessing Second Life. Again. It appears to once again be a generic libsecondlife block (although certain programs - e.g. TestClient - are unaffected).
