AjaxLife r13

Release

Having left AjaxLife for about a week, I came back to it last night and added person search, partial profile viewing, and arbitrary IMs. Yay.

Known issues

  • Session IDs, while now more consistent than before, are still not consistent enough to actually prevent conflicts resulting in “Lost IM” messages. On the plus side, they don’t crash it any more.
  • The image in the profile tends not to load. There are a range of issues causing that, which will hopefully be fixed at some point.
  • The server still dies under load.

Here’s a nice screenshot! :)

Blue’s Profile in AjaxLife

It’s in revision 13 on the Google Code project.

Freakishly Awesome! Just a little question, though, is there any way to avoid ugly profiles because of the Teen Grids lack of a full profile? I don’t see how LL thinks we can’t say who we really are, link to our site, and have a little pictures. 3/4 of the TG does that in Picks, anyway. >_>

Well other than scripting, and notices AjaxLife seems complete..

Also Most of the time friends and search don’t work.. And I am logged out on searching something sometimes..

I made a banner for sidebars of blog. It is free to use around. I used the background image of AjaxLife. Here it is http://metaverse.acidzen.org/2007/ajaxlife-and-sl-bloggers-logo-banners

    Keep up the good work.
And, for grid’s sake, make some contact form on the site, please.

    Katharine, awesome! :-)
Just in case you want to improve this further, I did have a few random speculations about the 3D here . Well, on the border of insanity (I honestly do not think it is possible to do the rendering of anything else other than a few cubes), but still - I do have slight hopes that maybe I am wrong.. :)

    Bad Gateway

The proxy server received an invalid response from an upstream server.

Apache Server at ajaxlife.katharineberry.co.uk Port 443

Keep up the great work, hope this issue gets resolved soon.

Fixed it, at least for now.

I’m sort of waiting on LL for some more of that Message Liberation stuff - specifically the send/receive packets over HTTP - before I improve it. That’ll make doing this stuff much more stable, and allow me to reduce the server side to a proxy that just handles data between you and SL in order to circumvent the Same Origin Policy.

Still 502 error — although the PS3 browser might not even make it through if it’s fixed >.>

    *When

P.S.: Did you know the physics engine for MotorStorm and Genji: Days of The Blade is Havok? (Second Life’s physics engine is Havok) I wonder when we’ll have MotorStorm physics in SL ‘^_^.

Thank you so much for your hard work. Have you had the server down recently ? I can’t connect.
